Four years ago one of Delta State’s own and a fellow Greek, Will Bradham, started a toy drive to benefit St. Gabriel Mercy Center in Mound Bayou through his business enterprises. Over the course of the past few years this effort has brought in hundreds of toys that go to children who might otherwise not receive anything during the holiday season. Most of us are from the Mississippi Delta Region, and all of us have spent at-least a small amount of time in Bolivar County while attending Delta State. We are all aware of the economic conditions of the region and in particular the individual economic situations of those who utilize the services of places like St. Gabriel Mercy Center. As Will puts it “It really bothers me to think that some children might get up Christmas morning and have nothing…”
We would like to issue a challenge to all Greek Alumni to make a contribution towards this toy drive. We are aware that the majority of our alumni base are not local to Cleveland and Bolivar County. With this in mind please click the “Donate Now!” button to make a contribution, 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit St. Gabriel Mercy Center. Any amount is welcome, nothing is too small or too big. If you want to put a note/comment to indicate your organization please do so.
